process:

process & design

Although we work on many differing design styles, be they contemporary, traditional, historic remodel, or even facade updates for both residential and commercial projects, our design process remains essentially the same, and is highly inclusive of our clients' input from the beginning.

At the initial programming meeting, principal architect, Mark Rusconi guides clients as their wishes and requirements are made known, helping tailor the project design to their daily life style and work schedule.

The initial programming meeting can take several hours but is instrumental in personalizing the project to best suit the clients' wishes. Pros and cons pertaining to certain items can be throughly discussed, by which time both parties have a better idea of the possibilities that lie ahead.

Following the programming session, the architect proceeds to the schematic design stage whereby the newly discussed ideas are drawn on paper in a very malleable form. For clients, this is certainly one of the fun parts of the process as much interaction with them is essential to the architect to perhaps offer explanations as to why certain design decisions have been made or perhaps redesign of parts of the project become necessary to suit the clients' updated thoughts or wishes or even possibly increase or reduce square footage as the project scheme has developed farther into the design phase.

Depending upon the wishes or changes to a design, sometimes a couple of schematic design meetings are held to fully satisfy both parties.
